Great to be really on the road again :-). A medium distance ride at 61 miles, relatively flat, with enough places to get food along the way. I started at 6:15am to get a jump on the midday heat, which was supposed to hit 90 degrees.
I made good progress throughout the morning... but the desert kept looking fairly unchanged...
As the day went by the headwind grew stronger, so that by the end I had to pedal downhill or else the wind would stop me in my tracks:
Stats: 61 miles, started at 6:15am, ended at 2:15pm, 7 hours of actual riding:

Omg, water!!! Maybe all that desert is what pushes people to gamble out there :) nice that there were a lot of restaurants, hope the snackun's were good
The new definition of “having a good day”: biking in the headwind for 7 hours and the temperature is “only” 90 degrees :-)
Chris, so glad to hear you’re truly back on the road again! 61 miles in that heat is no small thing - even if the desert wasn’t giving you much variety to look at. Starting early sounds like a smart move. Alex and I are cheering you on from afar - we can almost smell that California air getting closer!🚴🚴🚴
