Day #9: Amsterdam to Little Falls (44 miles)

At 7am it was pouring rain:
So we decided to eat breakfast in Mark's room with hard boiled eggs from his wife's chickens, and headed off around 9am, when there was just a little drizzle:
Soon, it turned into a beautiful day...
We had brunch in Canajoharie, NY:
And saw several more locks:
And also... some more animals:
We stopped at the historic Herkimer homestead... I'll write more about that in a rest-day post on the history of the Erie canal. For now I'll just share a few dreamy videos of leaves which reminded me a bit of the recent Wim Wenders' film, Perfect Days...
