Today was another 70+ mile ride... they all start bright and early and happy, and end with me feeling a little desperate to make it in to air-conditioning and with my right foot aching :-)
But today, was pretty wonderful, especially once two guys in a gas station told me what to expect in terms of climbing and descending, and it turned out there was much more down than up, which totally saved me :-)
I don't know whether you guys are going to get tired of panoramas of farmland, but apparently I can't get enough of them...
There seemed something Edward Hopper-ish about the stacks of hay bales, and I loved the yellow and red splashes of color on the industrial site, and seeing the efficiency of the watering machinery...
Stats:74 miles,started at 7:30am, ended at 5pm, 9 hours of actual riding:

How could anyone get tired of those beautiful landscapes, we love all the panorama of the farmlands. Out of curiosity, I checked the mean elevation in each state, Wyoming: 6,700ft, Utah: 6,100ft, Idaho: 5,000ft while Massachusetts: 500ft. You are really biking high!
There is totally something Hopper-ish to the hay bales - something about how they're striking and alone but still low and flat like the landscape around them. We can call it Dayhawks :) I get what you mean about staying up to watch soccer, I've heard the term "revenge free time" for when you should go to bed, but you're so spent from the day that you just insist on having some relaxation time. Good luck out there today!
Another beautiful day on the Tour de Chris! We’re definitely not tired of farmland panoramas!! keep them coming! 😄 So glad those gas station sages were right and gravity was on your side. Alex and I are rooting for you as you roll into Utah with style and sore muscles. Keep pedaling!! We’re loving every mile! 👍
