Re-tracing my path back to Grand Teton, I knew what to expect, so it was a relaxed ride. I started at 7:30am and it was cool enough for me to wear almost all my layers. Travelling South I would have two 1,000 foot descents and only one 1,000 foot climb.

And I saw some features that I had entirely missed when I rode it uphill...
And returning, the Grand Tetons were as majestic as ever:

I had a lovely conversation with a Swiss couple that was riding from Washington DC to Vancouver, Canada, and a group of three riders who were riding The Great Divide Trail from South to North.
Stats: 39 miles, started at 7:30am, ended at 12 noon, four hours of actual riding:

Adding Grand Teton to my todo list (or rather “to-drive-to list”). In the middle of summer watching the snow covered mountains, how cool is it!
Sounds like a perfect day, Chris—cool weather, more downhill than up, and great company on the road. Amazing how much you notice when you’re not climbing the whole time! 😄 Alex and I are loving every update—keep them coming!
Good luck out there tomorrow!
Looking at the photos, now I totally see why the Grand Tetons reminded you of Switzerland - they remind me of it too! The combination of snowy patches and not-snowy patches...
