Not too long a ride today... if the wind picks up it will be against me... but my big concern is the heat... it's supposed to hit 104 degrees by 2pm. I started off at 7am and tried to ride through with as few breaks as I could, so I didn't take as many pictures as usual...

I realized that with all the pictures of the prairie, I hadn't taken a picture of myself in ages, so... largely unchanged after about 2,400 miles on the bike:

Just two action shots:

As forecast, the first few hours of riding were lovely and cool, but by the end, a headwind was blowing and I was tired and hot, and happy to get off the road while it was still just in the mid 90's...

Snapshot: 43 miles, starting at 7am and ending at 11:45am, with 3.75 hours of actual riding. It turns out about half way through the ride I crossed time zones into Mountain Standard Time (MST), so the summary below is in MST, whereas my snapshot info kept it in CST:

Love the photo of you! Sounds like a day of hunkering down. There is something very majestic about that flat expanse -Nof

The sunrise, the color of the prairie, the endless yellow and green, all are so beautiful.
