Day #10: Little Falls to Sylvan Beach (53 miles)

Little Falls is perched on the steep banks of both sides of the Mohawk river, almost like an Italian or Japanese mountainside town:



Today we continued on the Empire trail along the Erie canal. It runs on shaded paths in the woods and through cities that had once been thriving industrial centers. As Mark said, once the railway and automobile replaced the mules and barges, the cities along the canal were bypassed and faded. We finished at Sylvan Beach on the Eastern side of lake Oneida:




We got some good action shots :-)

Good old buildings from good old days… only the river is running as usual.
